Twelve-spotted Skimmer
The Twelve-spotted Skimmer (Libellula pulchella), female pictured here, live in lakes, ponds, marshes, and slow streams. Interestingly, two males fly a stylized contest for their territory, in which each tries to fly loop-the-loops around the other.
