Rough Green Snake

Rough green snakes are common throughout the Southeast but are seldom seen because of their arborial habits and excellent camouflage. This species is associated with thickly vegetated areas having vines, bushes and shrubs. This one was found climbing a oak tree during a thunder storm by the Edisto River in August 2006.
